Part of a great dog friendly holiday in Devon is being able to enjoy walking on the beach. Each beach has its own regulations on dog walking, and you’ll find some ban dogs during the summer. Honiton Markets & Shopping

One of the best features of the town is the abundance of independent shops. Quality butchers, bakers, delicatessen and fishmongers are still very much a part of Honiton today, selling locally produced food, and sitting alongside shops with a wide range of goods, including the town’s famous antique shops.

Horse riding or long distance run / walk

Dunkeswell and Sheldon, Distance 20 miles (32 km).
At 20 miles this is by far the longest, and probably the most varied route taking in the valleys of the Otter tributaries and the wooded escarpments of the region. Relatively easy riding. Magnificent lengths of bridleways and cantering opportunities. This is one of five horse-riding circuits in the Blackdown Hills National Landscape – route 5

Canonteign Water Falls

The climb takes no longer than half an hour but it is steep and strenuous. Plenty of resting places are provided, and there’s a lot to see and do on the way up. A slightly quicker and easier route is available on the way down.The climb to Lady Exmouth’s falls takes you on a journey through Canonteign’s past. From the site of the old sawmill you pass Clampitt Falls, named after the brothers who built the original leat diverting water to the millwheel. Through the woods, you’ll emerge to your first sight of the 70 metre waterfall – the highest in the SouthWest – before continuing your climb up through the Secret Garden.
