GOOD Based on 77 reviews Nicky Sam25 May 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Southfarm is a peaceful and serene place. We stayed at Stables Cottage, which had such a wonderful view, the sunset and sunrise were breathtaking. There was lots to do, my daughter loved the pool (which was clean but freezing), Bella the cat, and the playbarn. My family enjoyed the long walks and exploring the area. Thank you, Justin, for being so welcoming and kind. We will definitely stay here again. Honor Taylor6 May 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Well, a delightful stay at Lake Cottage, fully equipped with everything you need for a stay. Fishing was amazing with plenty of good size fish. If you want a very peaceful break away, fisherman or not, do come. Swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, children's play room area and barn. Just amazing. Thank you Justin and team.

A wonderfully hard working and helpful host. We were reallyade to feel welcome and at ease. The cottage was perfect with everything you need at your disposal. Fishing was another level and a very happy husband and granddaughter who not quite 3 had her first fishing experience. All amenities were above expectations. We were also very lucky with the weather, which was an added bonus. Thank you for such a relaxing holiday moitai100014 January 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Went to visit my brother on holiday here..looks lovely, games room, hot tub room and under cover parking. Owner very pleasant and helpful. Wish we could have stayed..hoping he'll catch some fish from the three well stocked ponds. Grant Foster8 December 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very late review as had a lot on but looking at booking again so better late than never. This may seem like a negative review but it's constructive criticism for the new owners. I believe constructive criticism is more important than good reviews. We stayed in the farmhouse which was wonderful and would definitely return. However there are a number of things I hope the new owners could take into consideration 1. As a large family cooking big family meals the cooker wasn't up to scratch. The oven itself was fantastic however the hobs on top were absolutely terrible. They was electric and on the highest setting they was nowhere near hot enough. It took forever to cook. I think if your renting the farmhouse then it's expected for a lot of people to be staying. Therefore large meals to be cooked and the cooker just didn't suffice 2. The hot tub. This was a really big issue for us. A large family using it and after 2 days it was dirty. The hot tub never got used after the 3rd night as it was filthy and never got cleaned once throughout our duration. Other accommodation I have stayed clean/ treat the hot tub daily. Was a waste of money for ourselves and kids where disappointed. 3. The fishing. ( I am specifically on about the big pond at the top, can't remember the name). Possible the nicest pond I have ever fished. On the eye absolutely beautiful. However a lot of fish need taking out this water. Its actually harder to hook a duck at the fair. The fish literally come to the surface and take bread out your hands. As much as I was looking forward to the fishing I was actually bored after 1 hour. It wasn't fishing I'm my eyes. I don't think I fished atall last 3 days. Absolutely superb water. Lovely fish but just well over run 4. The games room for the kids. Brilliant idea but nothing really worked. Most thing we're broken or missing and it was really run down. I also asked about the gym/sauna when I got there as it was advertised but was advised it wasn't working and gym area wasn't up to scratch I appreciate how this can look negative but I would return. I just believe certain things need to be looked at and it's a honest review for the new owners to take into consideration

Dear Mr Foster. Thank you for your feedback and review from early this year. Just to inform you South farm isn’t under new ownership, the last people at the farm were managers, I’ve arrived as the new manager of South Farm, so thank you for your custom. I’ve looked at your stay on our system, just to give me all the information prior to updating you in a reply. During my time at the farm, I’ve not been informed with issues regarding the cooker in the Farmhouse, since your stay with us, this has never been mentioned, so we will however investigate the hob, as you mentioned that cooker was fantastic. We have had some very large parties that have had the farmhouse and Oaktree cooking in the Farmhouse, nothing has been mentioned, we do also offer the aga. Regarding the hot tub, was this not mentioned to the manager at the time. We do mention in our literature to shower prior to use of the hot tub, this keeps any contaminant down, we do however regularly check the hot tub. Looking at the compliance forms, start up chemicals were added to new water on the morning of the 16th August 2024, this was to try and get it to temperature prior to your arrival. I’m on hand if ever there has been issues, we also had the hot tub up and running in the spa area if you needed another one. I couldn’t however see a payment for the hot tub on your account. Ram lake, when I arrived, I realised that this was overstocked, mainly with the head of carp. Discussing this with the supportive owner, we decided to reduce numbers, 150 carp were taken out and added to a stock pond, where they are under a winter feed, this is to build the fish up, all lakes are now being fed a bulk pellet with protein and oil, so the feeding is more natural. It has been commented in the feedback books, online feedback that the fishing is not so prolific on Ram Lake. My advice would have been to fish Home Lake as this you have to use experience, but the rewards can be very good. Home lake has just been netted with lake work completed. The games room is a great asset, and lots seem to like it, we have just started to make some changes within the winter months, I do agree some of the items were old, so we have been replacing table tennis bats balls, shuttlecocks and rackets etc. Time allowing with the storms we do plan to make changes, also decorating in cottages has been on going. I hope this answers the questions and shows our commitment to making changes, please follow on Facebook to see what’s been going on. Kind regards South farm.
